AI visibility

AI visibility is how often a brand is mentioned in answers from AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews, measured across a defined set of prompts over a defined period. The figure only means something once you know what it was divided by, and most tools do not say.

How Zebora measures it

As a share of prompts, not of answers. Each prompt in the tracked taxonomy counts once toward the score however many times we sampled it. Prompts carry importance weights, so a question your buyers actually ask moves the number more than a fringe one. Every score is published with a confidence range rather than as a bare percentage.

Why the number is not portable

Different tools divide by different things. Some divide by every answer collected, some only by answers that named at least one brand, and several publish no denominator at all. A visibility figure is a property of the method that produced it, so comparing one across tools tells you nothing useful. Ask any vendor what sits under the line.

Two tools, one brand, different numbers

A brand is measured for the same week by two platforms. One divides by every answer it collected; the other only by answers that named at least one brand. The second reports the higher figure, because answers that named nobody never entered its denominator. Neither tool is wrong. They are answering different questions, and only one of them tells you what share of your buyers' questions you appeared in.
